Al Khor International School is one of the largest international schools in the Middle East with more than 4,500 students. We are owned by RasGas and Qatargas, the world’s two largest producers of natural gas. The school has exceptional facilities and is located in Al Khor Community, 40 minutes north of Qatar’s capital city Doha.
The Role
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the administration of the School’s Windows infrastructure. The ideal candidate should be versed in a broad range of technologies, which include Windows 2012, 2008 R2, Hyper-V and Office 365.
Key responsibilities include:
Active Directory group policy, users and groups administration.
Application installation, deployment and monitoring.
Troubleshoot server and workstation software and hardware.
Perform ongoing maintenance of all systems components of the Windows infrastructure.
Perform proactive duties, including patch management and software upgrades.
Regular review of system logs in order to identify and resolve any system, application or security issues.
Escalate and track issues to appropriate internal or external resources and vendors, as needed.
Monitor system stability, availability and performance using appropriate tools
Develop standard test plans and document the results.
Develop and maintain system backups and recovery using DPM and Veeam.
Perform maintenance of the Hyper-V and SAN environments.
What we are looking for
The successful post holder will have:
BS or MS degree in computer-oriented technical discipline or equivalent experience.
4+ years of experience administering enterprise Windows server environments.
MCSE is required.
MCSA, CCNA or other relevant technology certifications (highly preferred).
Excellent knowledge and understanding of Windows performance monitoring, troubleshooting and networking technologies.
Strong in-depth knowledge and experience administering DNS, DHCP and related technologies.
Experience with patch management and deployment tools.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency in scripting.
Experience with IBM/HP Blade and storage technologies including IBM V7000 is desirable.
Knowledge of VDI technologies would be advantageous.
Familiarity with Mac OSX and Linux operating systems.
