Primary purpose of job

Steward and perform technical supervision of petroleum engineering activities of MM & BH Fields, including all aspects of well completion, workover and rigless well work (from job design to on-site implementation); well surveillance, well/field network performance modelling /optimization and reservoir management activities. Participate in interdisciplinary team projects and activities. Steward implementation of petroleum engineering technologies, new to QP to maximise oil production and recovery. 1.Steward planning, acquisition and analysis/interpretation of petroleum engineering and Production data from new/replacement drill and well work projects for updating well/surface network models, determining post-completion production strategies and inputting into integrated reservoir/field development studies. 2.Perform technical supervision of well/surface network modelling and updating work including artificial lift design and troubleshooting for field performance optimization. 3.Steward and review petroleum engineering inputs into the short term (drill/replacement well projects and completion operations), medium term (reservoir voidage management) and long term (field development and asset value optimisation) activities. 4.Steward, review and ensure QA/QC of workover proposals and monitor workover projects for well repair and reservoir management, petroleum engineering operation/surveillance data and supervise the maintenance of petroleum engineering databases including real time data links. 5.Steward well performance monitoring and rigless well work identification/design/operation for well performance optimization and production assurance. 6.Perform technical supervision of conceptual completion design for new/replacement vertical/deviated/horizontal drill projects into multi-layered heterogeneous reservoirs to optimize field development. 7.Supervise work compliance by contractors for petroleum engineering study and data acquisition. 8.Plan and supervise coaching and development of Qatari staff. 9.Steward preparation of post-drill petroleum engineering reports including integration of interpreted petroleum engineering data and production performance with Geological/Petrophysical/Reservoir engineering evaluations. 10.Evaluate and implement new technologies such as intelligent oil field/well completion, water shut-off, diversion acid stimulation, well tracer, scale/corrosion management and control in water flood management etc.

Experience & Skills

Minimum of 15 years of related work experience as a Petroleum Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry. •Proven experience at recommending remedial well work solutions for oil and gas wells in heterogeneous reservoirs. •Experience with periodic production rate testing for wells and allocation of well test/production data. •Experience in acid stimulation of carbonate reservoirs. •General understanding of production surface facilities and well integrity management. •Experience with tubing & IPR modelling and Gas Lift design/troubleshooting. •Experience with interpretation of cased hole production and diagnostic logs.

Education

Minimum a BSc degree in Petroleum Engineering or other related discipline.
