SIDR2659 - SHIFT LEAD - PROTECTION
Department / Service Profile:Protective Services will provide a safe and secure environment for all Sidra Medical and Research Center Facilities. The Protective Services will ensure safe and secure ingress and egress routes on or adjacent to the medical center campus, ensuring the safety and security of all we serve.
Job Summary:
The Shift Lead - Protection leads and directs team members to ensure that the protection team operates in accordance with the policies and procedures of Sidra Hospital and the Protective Services group. The Shift Lead - Protection serves and assists team members and customers of the hospital with security needs. The incumbent ensures that the pre-planned protection patrols are implemented on a daily basis and develops the schedule for of all team members of his group. He/ She directs all visitors, patients and team members on matters relating to way finding, security and hospital information ensuring a polite and courteous service at all times.
Key Role Accountabilities:
Ensures that the pre-planned protection patrols are affective and in accordance with the daily schedule.
Directs and reviews the work of the team, holding them to the highest level of performance.
Ensures the team assists and advises visitors, staff and patients regarding way finding.
Coordinates all emergency and non-emergency activities, ensuring team reacts and performs in a professional manner.
Responsible for the proper working order of all equipment assigned to the Protection section, conducting audits and inspections as necessary.
Develops daily reports prior to the end of each shift free of errors and omissions.
May be required to conduct immediate investigations of incidents involving customers and guests and their interactions with his/her subordinates. These investigations are conducted fairly and accurately, following all HR policies.
Utilizes experience in either protection or security procedures to ensure the efficient operation of the team.
Ensures that violations are correctly administered and reported in accordance with policies and procedures; that cash is reconciled and banked as required, and that all maintenance and repairs are noted and addressed to as needed.
Ensures that barrier usage and space allocation is utilized to maximize traffic flow.
In view of the developing and changing needs and opportunities within Sidra this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.
Education:High School Diploma.
Experience:4+ years’ experience in Protection (Security), or other relevant experience.
Certification and Licensure:IAHSS Security certification within one year of employment.
Professional Membership:Membership in IAHSS within one year of employment.
Job Specific Skills and Abilities:Demonstrated strong supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills.Demonstrated excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Computer skills with the ability to open browsers, write and edit on line reports, work with Microsoft Office.
