VAC4364 - Senior Specialist Data/Fixed Security Architect

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Responsible for design and maintenance of fixed network security architecture within Ooredoo.
Responsible for providing guidance on technology/infrastructure projects and programs on the technical and architectural security and risks.
Review (gap assessment) of the Fixed Security controls within Ooredoo.
Responsible for embedding of key security architecture principles and controls within the design phase of projects.
Keeping Ooredoo security architecture evolving and up to date with emerging threats.
Working with and supporting the Business Units to ensure appropriate technical security controls are designed within the projects.
Reviewing of Ooredoo infrastructure for compliance and security.
Liaising between SIC members and other departments on vulnerabilities, risks and issues to help keep technical and architectural security optimised.
Business Impact
Prepare policies and procedural recommendations, guidelines, and progress reports for issues related to security compliance.
Support business delivery by applying best practice business continuity, resilience and security planning.
Costs & Profitability
Ensure data security
Optimize resources and identify cost saving.
Ensure business continuity as well as robust recovery mechanisms to minimize revenue loss.
Problem Solving
Make sure all issues are reported timely and accurately.
Implement a problem resolution strategy and plan resource allocation aiming to minimize problem resolution time.
Ensure all issues are solved within permitted timeframe.
Planning & Organizing
Develop plans and procedures to implement activities to improve quality and efficiency security for the organisation.

Act as an effective team member to support delivery of department goals.
Communicating, negotiating & influencing
Establish and manage multiple cross-functional relationships, coordination and communication lines with operating units & corporate centres.
Regularly communicate decisions and policies related to information security to teams.
Decision Making
Input into major decisions on a day-to-day basis, makes routine decision around control issues that impact function performance
Technical authority to recommend changes in mobile security in collaboration with line manager.
Operational decisions to improve methods and procedures
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):
Number of reference security architecture standards/guides developed.
Number of security architecture reviews carried to meet new business requirements.
Number of recommended changes to information systems to make them compliant with existing architectures.
Number of information security events related to improper technological controls identified.
Instances of impact of security-related events on business operations identified.
Impact of mandated design requirements on customer/user experience.
Number of new security architecture ideas created based on business risks.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
EXPERIENCE:
10 years’ of work experience
Minimum 5 – 7 years’ experience of security architecture within a similar size business, preferably telecoms.
