Purpose and Context::
The Technology Unit within Ooredoo is the backbone of the organization providing all technology services which enable Ooredoo to deliver its services to its customers across all technology platforms, 24/7/365. The quality of the customer experience when accessing its services sits within this BU and therefore it plays a significant role in the delivery of revenue and satisfaction targets.

This unit supports the Technology BU by managing SIT testing to ensure all IT platforms and core network are working with no errors. The role holder will act as the focal point for SIT (system integration testing) across all impacted IT platforms and core networks and ensure that the integration test are error-free and on time.  In addition, the team will coordinate change management (outages, etc.) with Data Centre and NOC .

Duties and Responsible:
Overview: Coordinate System Integration Testing in Mega projects and ensure that the integration tests are error–free and on time.Establish a team to undertake SIT’s by nominating members from all impacted platforms and bringing them together as a unified working team ensuring the development team is not involved in testing teams (ensuring effective identification of errors/gaps etc.)Implement testing objectives and guidelines for developing test cases based on department blueprints and published SIT Coordination process, involving key project stakeholders for input (project managers, relevant platform and network teams, marketing, etc.)Prioritize and schedule testing in coordination with Data Centre and ensure its effective execution.   Monitor and review all testing and debugging and ensure the effective production and dissemination of test reports to the relevant parties highlighting gaps/errors and making productive recommendations where possible.

Help ensure effective implementation of guidelines, interface and processes for testing including required tools and support.Ensure timely and error-free SIT testing and communicate the closure/key escalations to relevant stakeholders (Marketing, NLOB, Demand management functions etc.)

                 Provide periodic reports related to all SIT activities. 

Business Impact:

Indirect impact on the business through the effective execution of SIT – ensuring that any errors are spotted early in the process before the ‘go live’ and can be resolved preventing loss of functionality/revenue or customer satisfaction.

Costs & Profitability:

                No direct impact on profitability.

Problem Solving:

Uses own initiative, technical skill to identify and resolve problems and best way forward. Problems will be related to nominating SIT team from impacted IT and core network and execution of SIT campaign.

Planning & Organizing:

Ensures the SIT’s are completed on time to meet with planned targets & KPI and business requirements

Effectively plans parallel SIT campaign execution and ensures all are finished according to agreed timelines.

Experience, Qualifications, & Skills:
Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge:

8 years of total experience in engineering field at least 2 of which must be within a similar role where testing plays a significant part.

Proven knowledge and expertise in undertaking SIT in complex IT and core network environments involving multiple vendors.

Minimum Entry Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in Engineering, IT, telecommunications or information systems.

Technical/Non-technical Skills:
Proven experience in Telecom Software Testing and Telecom OSS/BSS products.

Capable of working at high-level solution architecture, as well as delving in low-level details if required.

Working knowledge in C,C++,Java, PHP,Unix, Shell Scripting, Perl, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL.

Hands-on experience with protocols such as RADIUS, DIAMETER, LDAP, SPML, SOAP, XML, SMPP, HTTP, DNS.

Strong troubleshooting skills in complex IT and core network solutions involving 10+ sub-systems.

Working well when under pressure.

A pro-active and independent working style.

Excellent presentation skills.

Quick learner.

Highly developed organizational skills (strong multi-tasking capabilities).
