Job Description :
The Doha Metro is an integral part of the Qatar Rail Development Program (QRDP). Consisting of 4 lines, the Metro network will cover the Greater Doha area and will include connections to town centres and vital commercial and residential areas throughout the city. In central Doha, the Metro will be underground, whilst at the outskirts; it will mainly be at ground level or elevated.
Planner
Job Purpose:
To provide and explain estimates technical resources, time required, ideal sequencing to develop, maintain and report on project program’s using Primavera P6.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Creates, maintains and updates project schedules in accordance with project requirements and WBS/CBS/OBS coding structures.
•Provides schedule reports to managers and directors in accordance with the project reporting calendar, and ad-hoc reports as required.
•Monitors and analyses schedule performance and provides results and recommendations to managers and directors.
•Ensures that the schedule incorporates appropriate milestones and activities aligned to the project scope, and that critical path(s) are identified.
•Ensures interfacing (internal/external) projects' relevant milestones and activities are incorporated into the project schedule.
•Undertakes schedule risk analyses, report outputs and make recommendations to managers and directors.
•Collaborates effectively with other Qatar Rail departments and colleagues.
•Collaborates with schedulers of contractors, consultants and suppliers.
Skills
•Experience of working in a construction and/or rail environment
•Extensive experience of project planning, scheduling and schedule risk analysis for major infrastructure projects, across the feasibility, design, construction, testing and commissioning stages.
•Awareness of health, safety and environmental issues in a railway environment.
•Expert knowledge and experience of Primavera P6 software (or later version if relevant).
•Expert knowledge and experience of earned value methodology and critical path analysis.
•Expert in use of Microsoft Office software (especially Excel).
Education
•Engineering degree in a relevant subject
