Job Title : Contracts Manager

Location : Doha, Qatar

Job Description:

• Prepare and/review contract documents based on FIDIC (Red Book), ICE and PWA (Qatar) standard form of contract for procurement of Contractors.  • Assist the Management in the signing of contracts by providing draft contracts based on FIDIC White book format and PSA (Professional Services agreement of State of Qatar).  • Review contracts with the client prior to its execution. Identify areas requiring resolution, generate  contract review statement and forward the same to the client. Undertake contract review with project Undertake contract review with project team on an ongoing basis. • Monitors the performance of main and sub-contracts and timely notifications of contractual  implications including penalties/liquidated damages for delays. • Ensures accuracy of monthly payment applications.  • Manage team of QS in performing post-contract QS functions.  • Preparation of contractual correspondence safeguarding company’s interests.  • Provide justification reports and Support in claims settlement, dispute resolution, litigation and  arbitration proceedings.  • Assist, evaluate and advise Management on contract conflicts and claims with clients and sub- contractors. Initiate and prepare variations and claims to be forwarded to the clients or sub- contractors in consultation with project team. • Verify claims and counterclaims from the legal perspective, study and defend the claims made by  sub-contractors in coordination with the discipline engineers.  • Generate periodic reports on the status of the contracts and variations if any, escalate to the  Management for corrective action.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline and 10 years of related experience and identified skills.  • Significant experience in construction business is required. • Must be familiar with processes and systems for contract lifecycle management, workflow  and data analysis and reporting.  • Advanced negotiation, writing, analytical, organization and planning skills  • Thorough understanding of liability and indemnification terms and the ability to negotiate them in a  favorable and equitable manner. • Ability to recognize all levels of risk and develop unique vendor/contract terms to mitigate those risks. • Ability to act in a professional manner to a diverse group of internal and external customers. • Ability to interact comfortably with personnel in various roles and levels across the organization.  • Proven ability to develop and lead implementation of creative solutions. • Attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines• Self-starter who takes initiative to develop, lead, and implement special projects. • Exceptionally strong written and oral communication skills. • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, MS Office, etc.).
