Building Information Modeling Specialist - (1500004B)
Job Purpose:
Support Technical Department by coordinating, managing and implementing Qatar Rail’s Building Information Modeling (BIM) program.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinates overall development of BIM standards, workflow, specifications, data requirements, etc. Qatar Rail technical team
Maintains/enforces BIM documentation, modeling QA/QC and workflow process standards
Acts as the main point of contact for BIM and all related issues between subcontractors, stakeholders and others as required
Supports and manages discipline-specific Qatar Rail BIM staff
Monitors BIM models for quality, data integrity and content throughout the project delivery process and at specific project delivery milestones
Acts as the primary Functional contact with the technology vendor and associated BIM consultants
Ensures BIM models meet expectations stated in the project BIM Execution Plan
Creates integrated models for visual coordination
Understands the BIM scope of work for the subcontractors on the project
Performs quality reviews of submitted models as they relate to the contract documents
Produces high-quality visualizations for meetings and presentations
Ensures that all submitted data is compliant with Qatar Rail’s BIM standards
Facilitates coordination/clash detection meetings and provides regular detection and resolution reports
Integrates scheduling data into project BIM to generate sequential visualizations
Supports, assists and trains project staff members in BIM use
Desired Profile:
Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Information Management. M.Sc. preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of Experience , Preferably railways experience
Skills:
Extensive knowledge in geospatial data handling
Knowledge in infrastructure planning, (railway or road projects)
Extensive hands-on experience with industry standard BIM technology including design, review and collaboration tools
Familiarity with international standards such as BS1192, IFC and COBiE
Leverages BIM knowledge to strategically reduce risk and improve efficiency within the organization
Strong supervisory, leadership and communication skills
Superior organizational skills and detail orientation
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Familiarity with construction concepts, practices and procedures
Proactive commitment to increasing overall industry/technology knowledge
Ability to balance various tasks, responsibilities and commitments efficiently and simultaneously
Passion for keeping up with the latest BIM technological developments
Pioneering spirit and a high degree of personal initiative
Working experience with international teams.
Previous experience working in the Middle East/North Africa desirable.
