Global technology leader Xiaomi has launched the first authorised Mi store in Qatar, in partnership with its local distributor Intertec Group.
This highlights Xiaomi’s “unwavering efforts to bring more innovative products at honest prices to Mi Fans in Middle East”, according to a statement.
George Thomas, Intertec Group CFO and adviser to the chairman, inaugurated the first authorised Mi Store in Qatar in the presence of Asraf N K, division manager, Intertec; Arjun Batra, commercial manager, Middle East, Xiaomi; Tony Qin, retail manager, Middle East, Xiaomi; and other officials from Xiaomi, Intertec at a ceremony held in the showroom located on Al Nasr Street, Doha.
The store features a wide range of Xiaomi products — providing customers in Qatar and other nations in the region with the “best-in-class experience of its top offerings”, from Xiaomi’s smartphones such as the Mi MIX 2S to Mi Ecosystem products, including Mi Air Purifier 2, Mi Band 2 and the 20000mAh Mi Power Bank, among others.
Customers can also purchase the recently launched Redmi Note 5 and Redmi S2 at the new store.
Thomas said, “The overall mobile market in the region is changing rapidly. Qatar is responding well to the introduction of connected smart handheld devices available at affordable prices. And since its entry into the Qatar market, Xiaomi has seen remarkable growth.
“We added Xiaomi mobiles to our product portfolio from December 2016 and within this short tenure, Xiaomi has become one of the most powerful and demanding brands in Qatar. During this successful journey, Intertec has achieved the milestone of opening the authorized Mi Store, which will fulfil
expectations in Qatar.”
Asraf expressed gratitude to the Qatar market, partners and media for their contribution and support. “In the last few quarters, the company has seen an overall mobile sales growth in the mid-high smartphone. Xiaomi’s consistent growth in this segment has been remarkable. At the authorised Mi Store, customers can find Xiaomi’s ecosystem products in an affordable price range”
At the opening ceremony, it was announced that Xiaomi’s flagship smartphone Mi MIX 2S will be made available in Qatar.
The Mi MIX 2S uses the latest Sony IMX363 flagship sensor for its dual-camera setup, with 1.4?m pixels for significantly better photos in low light, and Dual Pixel technology for superfast autofocusing. Mi MIX 2S also comes with integrated AI features, including AI-enabled camera features and face-unlocking, the
statement notes.
Mi MIX 2S uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, manufactured using the latest generation 10nm process. With a maximum clock speed of 2.8GHz and eight Kryo 385 cores, the CPU sees a 30% performance increase over the last generation. Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 also features the new Adreno 630 GPU, which gives up to 30 percent higher performance and up to 30% lower power consumption.
The Mi MIX 2S will be available in Qatar for QR2,149.00 for the 6GB + 64GB version.
