Doha: Qatar Radiation & Chemical Protection Department of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) called on company owners to adhere to not leaving vehicles transporting radioactive sources in public areas and undesignated places, otherwise they will face legal accountability.
In this regard, the department noted that they had detected the presence of a vehicle transporting radioactive sources in undesignated public places, and that the necessary measures had been taken to withdraw their license in accordance with the radiation protection law No. 31 of 2002.
The department explained that this measure comes within the framework of strengthening control over radioactive activities in the country.
The ministry has recently urged the public to continue its good interaction and cooperation with it, and to report all environmental violations, by calling the unified call center number 184, around the clock seven days a week.
