Unattended vehicles parked in front of Hamad International Airport (HIA) will be towed away from now, HIA has announced. The decision, which is being implemented in co-ordination with the Ministry of Interior, came into effect on Sunday.
HIA has also asked people to not exceed the stay limit of 10 minutes in front of the airport. Issuing a kerbside 'safety alert’ on its website, HIA said: “To avoid congestion at HIA kerbside during passenger drop-off and pick-up, and maintain the safety and security of our premises, we ask our customers to never leave vehicles unattended and to not exceed the stay limit of 10 minutes.
HIA, in close co-ordination with the Ministry of Interior Traffic Police Department, will start to tow unattended vehicles parked kerbside from Sunday, April 8, 2018.” A similar notice was issued on HIA’s Twitter page, too.
