Doha: Fans attending the FIFA Arab Cup final and third-place play-off on Saturday, December 18, are encouraged to plan their journeys ahead of time and set off early for the matches. Fans should also be aware that Qatar National Day celebrations may impact their travel plans.
The gates for the third-place play-off between Qatar and Egypt at Stadium 974 will open at 10 AM. The gates for the final between Algeria and Tunisia at Al Bayt Stadium will open at 2 PM.
After the matches, fans are advised to remain in the stadium precincts in order to help the flow of traffic.
The general public should note that roads around both stadiums will be busier than usual during the lead-up to kick-off and after the final whistle. In addition, the Doha Metro is also expected to be busier than usual during the afternoon and evening. Businesses located in the vicinity of both stadiums should plan accordingly.
Here is the key advice in relation to both matches:
Qatar v. Egypt at Stadium 974 (kick-off 1 PM)
Doha Metro - Take the Gold Line to Ras Bu Abboud Station (free travel available to Fan ID holders). Non-Fan ID holders should arrive early to buy their travel card. Fans should note that some stations in central Doha will be closed during the morning due to National Day celebrations
Stadium Express bus services - Services available from Khalifa Street and Souq Waqif bus hubs, starting from four hours before kick-off and running until 90 minutes after the final whistle (free travel available to Fan ID and match ticket holders).
Private vehicle - Park at the designated park & ride sites near Umm Ghuwailina and Free Zone Metro Station where a dedicated shuttle bus will transport you to the stadium. Search for ‘Spectator Parking P71 or P72’ in Google Maps or Waze.
Alternatively, parking is located within a 20-30-minute walk of the stadium. Search for ‘Spectator Parking P70’ in Google Maps or Waze.
Drivers should follow local signs when they approach the stadium. Park only in the official car parks and follow the instructions of the stewards.
Please note: Due to National Day celebrations roads around the Corniche will be closed until about midday. Please consider using the Doha Express way (22 February Street) and Sabah Al-Ahmad Corridor instead of Corniche Road.
