The General Directorate of Traffic has urged public to avail various services through Metrash2 app, in which more than 40 of its services are available.
The department also said that this has been done within the framework of preventive measures taken by the government to limit the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
“The General Directorate of Traffic has facilitated many procedures for visitors by providing nearly 40 traffic services through Metrash 2, which everyone can use it at home without visiting the Department headquarters,” said Colonel Jaber Mohamed Rashid Odaiba, Assistant Director of the Media and Traffic Awareness Department. The documents such as vehicle registration (Istimara) and others can be sent through Qatar Post which saves time and effort of visitors, he said.
Colonel Odaiba said that the services through Metrash2 include those related to driving licenses and the request to obtain and renew them. Also, there are other services related to vehicles such as transfer of ownership, renewal of Istimara, reserved vehicles, as well as traffic accidents, which can also be registered through Metrash 2. Enquiries about traffic violations, payment of traffic violations, registration of traffic accidents, and repair paper, are also available through Metrash2, he added.
The department also said that, through its Twitter account, public can communicate with the administration and enquire about services, as well as report any traffic violations.
To save both effort and time, documents can also be sent to anywhere you required, said the department. Many other entities also started providing their services online asking visitors to stay at home and use online services in order to limit the spread of coronavirus.
The steps to limit the spread of virus include closure of children’s play area in parks, postponing training sessions and workshops and carrying out cleaning and sterilisation campaigns in many markets.
