Doha: The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has named three cities in Qatar, namely Doha, Al Rayyan and Al Dhaayen, to the membership of the Global Network of Learning Cities from the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning.
To date, six municipalities in the country are members of the UNESCO Learning Cities Network, following the inclusion of Al Wakrah, Al Shamal and Al Shahaniyah in the past.
The joining of the three cities to the Learning Cities Network is a new achievement for the Ministry of Municipality represented by these municipalities; for its commitment to all the criteria required to fill this membership, through its adoption of a strategy to spread the concepts of sustainability and integrate society with it, in order to achieve Qatar National Vision of 2030.
