Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra

The Qatar Philharmonic Brass Quintet will play exclusively an eclectic selection of madrigals, jazz and film music.

The group’s trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba players will perform at the event.

Bollywood movie screenings

DFI Cinema as part of the Qatar-India Year of Culture 2019 will be screening Bollywood movies. The main focus of these movies are “Women in Film: An Indian Cinema Showcase”, it will display the distinct role of women within the history of Indian cinema.

The movies that will be screened are Khamoshi: The Musical (Nov 2), Monsoon Wedding (Nov 3) and Water (Nov 4).

Turkey Folk Show

Katara will host the first folkloric show from Turkey as part of the 4th Cultural Diversity Festival this weekend.

The festival features an array of cultural performances from different nations around the world and aims to act as bridge between cultures and provide a multicultural harmonious environment.

The festival is free for everyone.

European Jazz Festival

Katara will host the 6th European Jazz Festival with performances from 13 countries this year Austria, Bulgaria, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Hungary, Poland, Greece, Switzerland, Romania, France, Germany and Spain.

Paolo Damiani ListeNew Trio, made up of three champions of the Italian jazz traditions, Maestro Paolo Damiani (double bass performer), Daniele Tittarelli (saxophonist) and Ludovica Manzo (singer)  will be performing at the Jazz Festival.

KAWS’ Exhibition

The first Middle East museum exhibition of American contemporary artist Brian Donnelly, more famously known as KAWS, is on display at Doha Fire Station.

Dubbed KAWS: He Eats Alone, this show explores KAWS’ career and vast oeuvre which includes paintings, graphic design, small-scale objects, and large-scale sculptures made over the past 20 years.

In the Fire Station’s courtyard space, the work Companion (Passing Through) (2010), a 5-metre-tall matte black figure, seated with his hands covering his eyes, has been installed.

Admission to the exhibition is QR25 for Qataris, residents and students and QR50 for adults (visitors).

Admission is free for children under 16, Culture Pass Plus and Culture Pass Family Members, and visitors with disabilities.

Scrap Art Expo

Renowned 30 artists from 15 countries have put up about 250 artworks at the west square in Souq Waqif. The artworks varying in size depict figurines including human beings, sea-life and wildlife.

The exhibition is based on the concept of re-purposing scrap and waste to art pieces that can be displayed at different light.

‘Enchanted Forest' Baby Show

Enchanted Forest is an interactive baby theatrical show to take place at Qatar Foundation Clubhouse. In this theater story, babies and toddlers will learn about forest inhabitants, and that grass and mushrooms grow under the rain, will see a caterpillar transform into a butterfly and feed the bumblebee flower nectar.

After the 40-minute performance, a free professional photo shoot will take place following the show and every child will receive a souvenir gift.

QITCOM 2019

If latest smart technology solutions are your forte, then head over to QNCC where over 400 exhibitors are showcasing their latest products and services at QITCOM 2019. The event will feature 15 pavilions of which seven will be from United States, United Kingdom, Oman, Jordan, Italy, Armenia and Rwanda.

Displays showcased  will include developments in the field of land transport, maritime transport, information technology, digital society development and cyber security.

Qatar International Art Festival 2019

More than 200 artists from over 60 countries will come together to exhibit their artworks at Katara this weekend as part of the second edition of QIAF 2019.

QIAF will host different events each day, beginning with art talk show and master art classes on November 2, a unique artistic fashion show on November 3, interior and real art show, and concluding with awards on November 4 evening.

Katara in cooperation with the Cuban Embassy in Qatar presents "Face to Face" Exhibition by the Cuban Artist Juan Arel Ruiz Contino.

‘The State of You’ Exhibition

Qatari multidisciplinary designer Aisha Nasser Al Sowaidi explores the potent power of scents to evoke memories and trigger emotions in her unique olfactory installation “The State of You”.

The installation comprises seven units shaped like small domes made of concrete and gypsum bearing traditional patterns. Each of the dome emits a certain scent when a visitor stands beneath it.

Sustainable Art

As part of Qatar Sustainability Week 2019, Sustainable Art - Future Vision 2019 will host  sustainability activities, events and campaigns. The exhibition, will feature the work of local and international artists.

Friday Souq

A new market to sell produce from local farms has opened at Oxygen Park's Senses Garden in Education City.

The Department of Agricultural Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment tweeted that the market will have many local farms selling vegetables, mushrooms and local honey.

Breast Cancer & Domestic Violence Awareness Walk

Education City has organised a Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence Awareness Walk which is open to the entire community and their families.

There will be a breast cancer mobile screening unit there on site at the walk, as well as several information and activity booths.

A slow flow yoga session will also be held after the walk.

Qatar’s Best Talents

Mall of Qatar’s ‘Qatar’s Best Talents’ will run again every Friday at the Oasis stage. Singing duets, hip-hop performances, folk dances and piano recitals are some of the excellent enter-tainment mix to be showcased as part of the programme.

‘Qatar’s Best Talents’, in their third season, showcases up to 10 performances in dancing, singing, and other performing arts selected by MoQ.
