Doha: Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has issued a marine warning of strong wind and high seas.
On Twitter, QMD stated: "Marine warning of strong wind and high seas expected to start from Sunday afternoon until Wednesday where the Northwesterly wind ranges between 4-8 ft rising to 10 ft at places at times."
Due to this weather condition, QMD urges all citizens and residents to take precautions and avoid all marine activities.
“Preliminary indications of instability in the eastern Arabian Peninsula by the end of this week lasting for several days on intermittent periods which may affect the country’s atmosphere,” the department further said.
QMD also shared a weather report issued by the Gulf Marine Center in Qatar, a certified center by World Meteorological Organization, about a tropical storm southwest of the Arabian Sea.
"Weather maps indicate the development of the tropical state southwest of the Arabian Sea into a tropical storm, with wind speeds around the center 45-55 knots and continues to move westward the Horn of Africa and the Gulf of Aden," QMD added.
Even though as per the weather reports a rise in maximum temperature is expected today due to the continuous flow of Southerly winds until midday, shifting to Northwesterly with moderate speed later, the temperature touched 15 degree C in Abu Samra in the morning.
