Doha: Seven pedestrian crossings will be available for public to attend the activities on the Corniche Street during the Arab Cup.
Speaking to Al Rayan TV, First Lieutenant Khaled Al Mulla, head of the technical team of the Corniche Closure Committee, said that all pedestrian crossings will be open, and the reason for the temporary closure is to set up the infrastructure for the events on the Corniche Street and not for other maintenance works, as some believe.
“We will also have a Corniche bus service that will depart from Souq Waqif every 15 minutes towards the Sheraton and then back to Souq Waqif,” he said.
The bus will have a total of 11 pick-up and drop-off stations and the public can use the seven stations near the crossings at the corniche to get to the venues and back.
For all vehicles, alternative entrances and exits will be arranged to access the area around Corniche.
