Khalid Saif Al Suwaidi, the General Supervisor of the exhibition, shared with Qatar News Agency (QNA) that since its launch on January 18, the first edition has garnered significant attention from visitors. Held at Souq Waqif, a bustling hub attracting a large influx of people, the event has significantly boosted truffle sales.
Al Suwaidi further revealed adjustments to the exhibition's opening hours during Ramadan, ensuring it remains accessible after the Taraweeh prayer, accommodating the schedules of visitors during the holy month.
Depending on truffle availability, the Souq Waqif Truffle Exhibition and Auction 2024 may be extended, providing more opportunities for enthusiasts to indulge in this culinary delight.
Anticipating a surge in demand during Ramadan, especially among Qataris and Arab households, Al Suwaidi emphasized the popularity of truffles during this sacred time.
Importantly, Al Suwaidi highlighted the diverse sources of truffles, with large quantities imported from Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, and Algeria, while additional imports are expected from the Arab Maghreb region, ensuring a rich and varied selection for attendees.
