Doha, Qatar: The upcoming Qatar Travel Mart (QTM), in its second edition, is poised to launch at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) on Monday, November 20. The inauguration will be officiated by H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Abdullah Al Thani, the Minister of Commerce and Industry. The event is scheduled to run for three days, concluding on November 22, with operational hours from 10 am to 7 pm each day.
Organized by NEXTfairs, QTM 2023 is expected to attract approximately 9,000 visitors and will feature seven key sectors, covering Sports, Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE), Cultural, Leisure, Luxury, Medical, and Halal tourism. Going beyond the realm of sports, the event aims to welcome various entities, including Destination Management Companies (DMCs), Tour Operators, Travel Agencies, Travel Technology Companies, Associations, and Tourism Boards, both domestically and internationally.
Recognizing the dynamic needs of the travel and tourism industry, NEXTfairs highlights that QTM 2023 will serve as a vital platform for establishing new connections, exploring opportunities, and reinforcing existing relationships.
According to the event's website, "Qatar Travel Mart 2023 will further strengthen the competitiveness of the tourism industry by bringing together the inbound and outbound tourism together by providing a marketplace for mutual relationships among tourism businesses at home and abroad to promote their tourism resources and cultures."
The "QTM Conference" is a key feature of the event, presenting thought leaders, experts, and influential stakeholders who will share insights into the latest industry trends and innovations. Keynote speakers on the first day include Saad Al Khariji, Chairman of Qatar Tourism; Hissen Ibrahim Taha, Secretary General, OIC-ICDT; Prof. Muzaffer Uysal, Professor and Chair of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of Massachusetts; and Tom Jenkins, Chief Executive Officer of the European Tourism Association (ETOA).
