Safa International Company, a leading bottled drinking water company in Qatar, has announced that it recently received the FSSC 22000 food safety certification. FSSC 22000 is the global certification scheme for food safety management systems and is recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative.
In a press statement, Safa International Company said it was awarded the certification by Bureau Veritas Doha and honoured to be the second certified organisation in Qatar for FSSC 22000 food manufacturing scheme.
FSSC 22000, considered one of the most comprehensive food safety management systems, enables organisations to reduce food safety hazards, promote continuous management improvements and good manufacturing practices, foster legal compliance, increase transparency throughout the food supply chain and allows organisations to implement a robust food safety management system – which is why it is accepted worldwide.
Safa International Company is now its 15th year. “We are proud to announce that we have gained a major share in 5-gallon bottled water market and reach every nook and corner of Qatar with a fleet of 170 vehicles,” the company said.
Present at the certification ceremony were Mohamed Ashraf, managing director, Safa Water; who received the certificate from Vinod K P, certification manager, Bureau Veritas; and Makram, sales manager, Bureau Veritas. Also in attendance were Safa Water officials Fasil Mohamed Ashraf (executive director), Naaim Nadirsha (director), Cleetus Alukka Poulose (general manager), Noufal (marketing manager), Ibrahim Kutty (purchase manager) and Shinoj (production in-charge).
