Registration for Double Promotion for Upper Grades in Schools Begins Sunday

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has announced that registration for the double promotion system, which allows students to advance to higher grades after passing specific tests, will open on Sunday.

The double promotion service, named ‘Tasaro,’ will be launched on June 30, 2024, through the ‘Maarif’ Public Services Portal of the MoEHE.

This system enables students who passed the first round of exams for the 2023-24 academic year in public schools and private schools adhering to national standards, regardless of nationality, to apply for the second round exams in the same year, allowing them to move to a higher grade according to specific conditions and criteria.

For the 2023-24 double promotion system, day school students must achieve a score of 85 percent or higher, while students in adult and home education must score 75 percent or higher in the first round of exams to qualify.

Students who passed the second batch of adult education will take the third batch exams to advance to grade 7. Those who passed the third batch of adult education must pass grade 7 exams to move to grade 8.

Similarly, students who passed grade 4 must pass grade 5 exams to advance to grade 6. Those who passed grade 5 must pass grade 6 exams to advance to grade 7. Students who passed grade 6 must pass grade 7 exams to advance to grade 8.

Students who passed grade 7 must pass grade 8 exams to move to grade 9. Those who passed grade 8 must pass grade 9 exams to advance to grade 10. Finally, students who passed grade 9 must pass grade 10 exams to move to grade 11.

The double promotion system aims to shorten the number of school years for students, according to educational experts.
