Qatar Solar Technologies (QSTec) leaders, together with the rest of staff, celebrated Qatar National Day at the premises of QSTec Polysilicon Production Plant, based in Ras Laffan Industrial City, coinciding with the plant reaching the target full operation.
Sheikh Saud bin Abdul Rahman al-Thani, vice chairman and managing director, QSTec, said that the slogan of National Day this year, ‘Almaali Kaida,’ literally applies to everyone in QSTec, according to a statement.
“Thanks to God, we have achieved our interim target this year with the plant’s full operation, bypassing all the difficulties that we encountered, along with hard obstacles that overwhelmed us,” he said.
“Now we are reaping the fruit of hard work throughout the past year. It is so beautiful that realising our target coincides with the celebration of Qatar National Day, to present this achievement as modest gift to the Qatari people and wise leadership, hoping that our gift will be greater in the upcoming celebration,” he added.
QSTec is a company operating in solar energy solutions and currently owns the first plant of its kind in the Middle East to produce polysilicon, a raw material for the production of solar energy generation units. It is expected that QSTec will complete its investment in the remaining stages of the value-added chain of the solar energy industries, according to informed sources within QSTec, as part of interim plans that depend on building global alliances with reputable companies in this field.
QSTec chief executive officer Ibrahim Jaham al-Kuwari stressed the balance that the management maintains to achieve its targets, the statement added.
