Qatar Petroleum (QP) recently held its annual continuous service awards ceremony to give due recognition to a total of 339 employees who have been part of QP for the past 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years.
Addressing the honoured employees, Qatar Petroleum President & CEO Saad Sherida al-Kaabi said, “We take special pride in the great professional and personal qualities of our diverse human resources. It means a lot to us to have this kind of commitment by so many people. It is a testimony of our status as an employer, as well as an indication of your dedication and loyalty.”
Al-Kaabi stressed that QP is now a more focused, more cohesive, and a more adaptive corporation. “We are more determined than ever to complete that journey to become one of the best national oil companies in the world, while at the same time enhancing Qatar’s leading position in the global oil and gas industry. It is you who will make sure that we go there.”
QP’s CSA Ceremony 2017 was held at the Convention Hall of QP Headquarters in West Bay, and it was also attended by the corporation’s executive vice presidents, vice presidents and other senior officials.
The QP staff who were honoured during the event consisted of some 129 employees who have been working in QP for the past 20 years, 109 employees who have completed 25 years of service, 59 who have put in 30 years of service, 29 who have been part of the corporation for the past 35 years, and 13 who have achieved a “career milestone” of 40 years of service with QP.
The awardees came from QP’s various directorates and corporate departments and represented a wide range of nationalities. They are based in the corporation’s major areas of operations in Doha, Dukhan Concession Area, Mesaieed Industrial City, Ras Laffan Industrial City, Halul Island and offshore production stations.
During the event, al-Kaabi personally congratulated each of the honoured employees as he presented them with a certificate of appreciation and a gift as a token of gratitude for their many years of service with QP.
The event was the first of two recognition ceremonies scheduled this month, with the second set to be held on March 7, to recognise as many as 951 employees who have already completed 10 and 15 years of service with QP.
