QGBC opens registration for ق€˜No Paper Day Qatarق€™

Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF),

has opened registration for organisations in Qatar who wish to take part

in its annual ‘No Paper Day Qatar’.

The initiative, now in its sixth year, is part of QGBC’s ongoing efforts

to help schools, companies and institutions find ways to reduce paper

consumption, engage the wider community in environment-friendly

practices and raise sustainability awareness.

Meshal al-Shamari, director of QGBC, said: “We are delighted with the

success of this campaign over the past few years. It has encouraged

companies and individuals to reduce their recyclable waste and celebrate

Qatar’s efforts to build a more sustainable future. We look forward to

the continuing participation of our existing partners and to bringing

new partners on board for this exciting and important work supporting

the environmental and social pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030.”

As in previous years, companies and individuals taking part in ‘No Paper

Day Qatar’ are encouraged to start saving and collecting recyclable

waste in the form of newspapers and magazines, office paper, cardboard,

plastic bottles, plastic cups and jugs, and aluminium and steel cans.

All collected recyclable waste should be dropped off at the QGBC Villa

on April 8, 9 and 10. Participating companies will be invited to attend

an appreciation event to celebrate the success of the campaign and will

also receive QGBC-led sustainability training sessions on their

premises.
