Qatar Foundation’s (QF) FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 activities have attracted a huge number of fans to enjoy an unforgettable experience.
As part of QF’s World Cup campaign – ‘It’s Only Football if it’s For All’ – a line-up of events and activities are taking place at Education City and are open for everyone to enjoy.
“It’s been great to see fans from around the world coming and taking part in our activities. Fans attending matches in Education City have been able to enjoy accessible routes to the stadium, engage in activations, as well as celebrating along with our performers,” Sports Programs Specialist at QF, Hamad Saleh Al Shiba told The Peninsula.
“Qatar Foundation is happy to welcome fans from around the world – we want to make sure that everyone has access to enjoy the football and their World Cup experience in Qatar,” he added.
QF activities ensure the tournament brings people together and leaves a lasting legacy of accessibility and empowerment for people from all walks of life.
Among the activities and events, a multidisciplinary exhibition titled GOALS is bringing the journey of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 to life – as experienced by people from across the country.
“We’re happy to see fans visiting the GOALS exhibition to find out more about the lives of people in Qatar and their love for football,” said Al Shiba.
Football fans from Qatar and around the world also have the opportunity to watch the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 action unfold at Education City during free family-friendly screenings of the tournament’s matches at Oxygen Park.
“Our match screenings within Oxygen Park have been very popular, particularly with families and members of the community who want to come and enjoy the World Cup atmosphere,” said Al Shiba. Among QF’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 activities are the second edition of its D’reesha Performing Arts Festival, taking place from December 11 to 17 at Oxygen Park in Education City.
Under the theme of Travel and Adventure, D’reesha will showcase the richness and vibrancy of Arab culture, language, and heritage through the lens of music, theater, poetry, storytelling, education, and science.
“We are proud to be hosting the first FIFA World Cup in the Arab region, so for Qatar Foundation the D’reesha Performing Arts Festival is a chance for us to share our language and diverse cultures with fans visiting Qatar. We hope to provide fans with an opportunity to explore the world of performance, music and invention when they attend D’reesha,” said Al Shiba.
