Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has issued a weather update forecasting a chance of light rain in certain areas of Qatar on March 4.
"Expect scattered to partly cloudy skies with a possibility of light rain in some regions," announced QMD on its social media platforms.
Additionally, there is an offshore warning indicating the likelihood of thundery rain, accompanied by strong winds and high sea conditions.
Inshore, wind speeds are anticipated to range from southeasterly to southwesterly at 8 to 18 knots, reaching up to 25 knots in certain areas. Offshore, winds are forecasted to be southeasterly at 12 to 22 knots, gusting up to 30 knots in places, along with thundery rain.
Sea conditions closer to the shore are expected to be between 2 to 4 feet, rising to 5 feet in areas experiencing thundery rain. Offshore, sea heights are predicted to range from 3 to 7 feet, increasing to 10 feet in locations with thundery rain.
In Doha, temperatures are forecasted to vary between 19°C and 24°C on March 4.
Today, the Al Ghuwayriyah area recorded the lowest temperature at 9°C.
