Qatar’s hospitality sector has grabbed global limelight again as several Qatari hotels have earned top ratings in the prestigious Conde Nast Traveller’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2020.
Katara Hospitality owned Raffles Singapore has been voted as the top hotel in the ‘Top 10 Hotels in Singapore’ category by its readers, while Hôtel Royal Savoy Lausanne, Switzerland, has made to ‘Top 15 Hotels in Central Europe’. Katara Hospitality is the leading global hotel owner, developer and operator based in Qatar.
Three Qatar-based hotels have also made to the list of top hotels in ‘Top 15 Hotels in the Middle East’, one of the categories in the magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2020.
Mandarin Oriental, Doha, has ranked first in Top 15 Hotels in the Middle East list. Another hotel in Qatar, W Doha, has been ranked second in the list, while Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels by Tivoli has ranked 12 in the list.
Conde Nast Traveller is a luxury and lifestyle travel magazine published by a global media company — Conde Nast.
The Conde Nast Traveller’s Readers’ Choice Awards are presented annually on the basis of votes from readers of the magazine for the best that the travel world has to offer.
More than 715,000 transatlantic readers submitted responses rating their travel experiences across the globe.
The Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry.
Raffles Singapore earned a score of 99.04 in ‘Top 10 Hotels in Singapore’ category leaving behind other major hotels of Singapore.
“One of Singapore’s most attractive qualities is its cosmopolitanism, its openness to the world; Raffles embodies that spirit,” wrote Conde Nast Traveler about Raffles Singapore in its review.
Mandarin Oriental, Doha came at the top with a score of 99.72, leaving behind many well-known hotels of the Middle East behind.
“Part of the revitalised downtown arts district, Barahat Msheireb was designed to be the town square of contemporary Doha, and this hotel (Mandarin Oriental, Doha) fits in perfectly with the neighbourhood’s upscale vibe,” wrote Conde Nast in its review of Mandarin Oriental, Doha.
