Doha: The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has issued a weekend weather forecast predicting extremely hot conditions during the daytime. Today (July 26) and Saturday (July 27) are expected to be particularly sweltering.
On Friday, temperatures will soar up to 48°C, with a minimum of 35°C. QMD noted that it will be very hot with occasional clouds.
Saturday's temperatures will range from 36°C to 46°C across most parts of Qatar.
Friday will see moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds inshore at 4 to 14 knots, gusting up to 22 knots in certain areas, with sea waves between 2 and 6 feet high.
Saturday will bring fresh southwesterly to northwesterly winds, accompanied by strong winds and high seas warnings, with wave heights expected to reach between 4 and 8 feet.
Yesterday (July 25), maximum temperatures of 47°C were recorded in Mesaimeer, Qatar University, and Messaieed, according to QMD data.
To ensure safety during this extreme heat, avoid direct sunlight exposure and strenuous outdoor activities during peak hours. Staying hydrated and seeking well-ventilated environments is also recommended.
