The agreement comes in the context of the university's role in providing a high-quality level of higher education and scientific research in Qatar, and in an effort by the QRDI to lay the foundation for constructive c-ooperation with actors in the field of research, development and innovation.
The two parties agreed to provide access to QU’s world-class technologies, equipment, and infrastructure for local and international researchers and innovators, while seeking to improve conditions that affect research and innovation activities in the business sector, in order to facilitate the enhance the facilitation of such activities in the country.
In a statement on the occasion, Dr al-Derham stressed the importance of this agreement, on which work had been underway for a whole year, noting that QQ has an integrated strategy and a clear vision in everything related to research and innovation and seeks a long-term partnership with the QRDI to achieve a knowledge economy, while relying on its human cadre and the availability of an ideal research environment that is considered among the best in the world.
For his part, al-Ansari affirmed in a statement that the QRDI seeks to consolidate an integrated system for research, development and innovation, which is characterised by a new environment and opportunities that encourage production and experimentation of innovative solutions in various sectors through the human competencies that have the ability to invent and innovate, and which will work in various industries backed by the capacities developed by the academic and research bodies in the country over the past decades.
He pointed out that the partnership with Qatar University represents a true model of co-operation that would contribute to strengthening the national system for research, development and innovation, as well was to achieving the ambitions and aspirations of Qatar National Vision 2030.
