Doha: The Ambassador of UK to Qatar, H E Jon Wilks, has said that the human bridge between the two countries has always been important with over 20,000 British nationals living and working here in Qatar.

He added: “The Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab discussed Afghanistan and the wider bilateral relationship in his first visit to Doha on Thursday. Warm and productive meetings with Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, underlining a common will to build on our already strong relations and to work closely together and with other partners on Afghanistan.”
“The human bridge between our two countries has always been important with over 20,000 British nationals living and working here and the many Qatari nationals travelling to the UK. We continue to work on facilitating travel between our countries consistent with protecting our people from COVID-19,” he added.
“We wish Qatar well in a historic year to come ahead of World Cup 2022. The UK will be a committed supporter of a safe and successful tournament. On this 50th anniversary we also look forward with our Qatari friends to even greater days to come.”
