Gen al-Qahtani underlined that the GCC countries share common fate and security, adding that border guards and coast guards were added to this year's edition.
He noted that the exercise includes activities and events that simulate all the assumptions and security risks that any of the GCC states may be exposed to.
The launch ceremony started with a review of the participating security forces, followed by a speech by the commander of the exercise, Maj Gen Shaye bin Salem al-Wadani, who confirmed the completion of preparations of the participating forces to launch joint exercises and activities, which aim to strengthen the bonds of co-operation between the GCC countries in the security field and boost the level of co-ordination and readiness of the security forces to address all the threats and dangers facing the Arab Gulf region.
