Ministry of Public Health today announces the registration of 114 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the recovery of one patient in addition to the sad announcement of a third death due to COVID-19 in the State of Qatar
Some of the new cases of infection are related to travelers who returned to the State of Qatar from abroad and were subjected to quarantine upon arrival. Other new cases were in contact with positive cases in Qatar. All newly infected cases were put into quarantine and are receiving all necessary medical care.
The Ministry of Public Health today conducted laboratory COVID-19 tests for 1435 people, bringing the total number of tests to 26,260 so far, as the use of new laboratory techniques continues to contribute to a greater number of daily tests.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar now stands at 949 and there 877 active cases.
The Ministry announced the recovery of one more patient, making the total number of recovered cases in Qatar now at 72.
Ministry of Public Health announced the registration of the third COVID-19 death - an 85-year-old resident who was suffering from acute pneumonia. The deceased was admitted to intensive care immediately upon his diagnosis yesterday, and treatment and medical care was provided to him immediately. The Ministry extends condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased.
Ministry of Public Health requests all members of society to cooperate fully and adhere to all health guidelines and preventive measures to reduce the risk of contracting the virus.
