Qatar participated in the 4th edition of the Paris Peace Forum along with more than 30 heads of state and government, as well as heads and directors of various international organisations and delegations of more than 130 countries. Qatar's delegation was headed by HE the Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani. The forum, which witnessed the organisation of more than 70 panel discussions, was opened by French President Emmanuel Macron with a speech in which he stressed the importance of collective and joint international action to find solutions to the challenges of Covid-19 pandemic, as well as a number of important international issues, including human rights and the protection of journalists and migrants and the climate change. The forum also witnessed an important participation of Qatar Foundation, as a strategic partner for the work of this edition. It has organised many events on the sidelines of the official work of this major international event.
Qatar's ambassador to France Sheikh Ali bin Jassim al-Thani also participated in the forum. The forum discussed from Thursday until Saturday several files that dealt with international political, economic and social issues.
