Qatar’s ambassador to Nepal, Yousuf bin Mohamed Ahmed al-Hail, welcomed a number of dignitaries who included members of the diplomatic corps.
The guests were welcomed with Qatari Coffee (*gahwa) and *karak tea with dates.
"As food and culture are integral parts of promoting peace and friendship among the people of the countries, such a food festival could be viewed as a harbinger of the future Nepal-Qatar cultural ties,” the envoy said.
The guests praised the taste of Qatari food as well as the environment of Chandragiri Hills.
Chandragiri Hills has lately emerged as a popular destination for tourists, both domestic and international.
The location is 7km uphill from Thankot, a gateway to Kathmandu.
A nine-minute ride by cable car ferries visitors to the hill station. Visitors can also travel via a bumpy road uphill, or embark on a three-hour trek.
Once atop the hill, one can get a panoptic view of the scenic Kathmandu Valley.
