She pointed out that Qatar has an ambitious plan in the field of digital transformation, which began in 2017. A large part of this strategy was achieved with the launch of the Smart Qatar Programme (Tasmu), including the Smart Qatar Platform which is the infrastructure and the heart of the program. The platform includes many services at the core of the technological infrastructure, especially as it is a cloud computing technology.
In addition to the projects that have been completed in Qatar, such as the Virtual Health Consultation and the Digital Farmer Community, the Digital Twins Qatar project, one of the most important projects that serve transportation and infrastructure, was launched after the completion of its pilot phase, al-Mansoori said, explaining that this project is one of the important services on the Tasmu platform, and will bring great benefit to several parties, such as the transportation and infrastructure sectors, especially that it embodies a virtual world for their infrastructure before moving to a real world.
It will also be in the service of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, as it creates a virtual world that serves the planning of logistics operations before being tried on the ground.
Al-Mansoori added that the Smart Parking Qatar project was also launched after the completion of its pilot phase. The project will serve Qatar in establishing many smart parking lots with the aim of providing smooth transportation within the city through an application on smart devices.
Speaking about the Smart City Expo Doha 2022, which was launched earlier in the day, she said that Qatar is a regional forum for smart solutions with the participation of more than 70 international experts in the field of smart cities from 60 countries, discussing over two days topics related to smart cities, solutions, sustainability and the resilience of life in those cities.
