Doha: Showing support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Qatar Airways’ all-women flight drew the iconic ribbon in the sky, yesterday. The pink ribbon is an international symbol of breast cancer awareness.
The special flight QR9901, named Think Pink flight, was all-women in true sense as women across the different departments played role in making the flight a big success. Pilots, cabin crew, ATC controller, engineer technologist, dispatcher and passengers were all women.
“In support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our Boeing Airplane 787 Dreamliner drew the iconic ribbon in the sky,” said Qatar Airways on its official twitter account yesterday. “Women across different departments have played a role with today’s Think Pink flight, helping to create the iconic ribbon to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” it added.
The special flight started at 6.03am from Hamad International Airport and stopped at the airport at 7.26am. In its around 1 hour 20 minutes long journey, the flight had reached an altitude of 10,000 feet, according to flightratdar24 — a Swedish Internet-based service that shows real-time commercial aircraft flight tracking information on a map.
The special Think Pink flight also had pink amenity kits and meals onboard, which passengers can also enjoy for the rest of October.
Flight QR9901 is the latest in a series of ‘Think Pink’ Breast Cancer Awareness Month events and activities organised by the award-winning airline.
