HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Thani, CEO of Qatar Media Corporation has reviewed the last touches for the broadcast of Qatar 2 Channel , which will be launched on Thursday.
The new TV channel will broadcast the most important materials presented by Qatar TV throughout its history, including series, plays and variety programmes.
A team of specialists will select such material and schedule them for rebroadcast to benefit from the valuable library of Qatar TV programmes, interviews and other shows.
HE Sheikh Abdulrahman stressed that this TV channel will be added to the series of high quality Qatari channels. He also appreciated the progress of Qatar TV since it was first established and its ability to respond to the wishes and demands of viewers throughout the long years.
He said: “We have a rich archive at Qatar TV, which we will work to rebroadcast and select the best to present it in a constructive entertainment format to actively engage the memory of the public with such precious things presented by Qatar TV throughout its history.”
In the meantime, Mubarak al-Awami, Assistant Director of Qatar TV , said that the launch of this channel was a result of long and hard work to prepare the distinguished material that deserved to be rebroadcasted and show through Qatar 2 Channel , in addition to preparing a diverse programme schedule that included a number of excellent TV series, plays and programmes. He pointed out that the materials set to be shown will attract and engage the viewers.
He added: “Qatar TV has been the favourite screen of many viewers not only in Qatar but outside as well. Such following has been there due to the great quality of programmes and special shows that were produced by Qatar TV, which will be the main focus of the new channel.”
The new channel is expected to generate a large following in the upcoming period on the strength of the distinguished programmes it is going to broadcast.
