HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani has urged Qatari companies to participate in the development of Media City.
He was speaking at a meeting to discuss ways of co-operation between the private and public sectors in the development of the Media City and its various components.
The meeting was held in Lusail City on Thursday.
HE the Prime Minister stressed the importance of upgrading the services provided by the Qatari companies to win the trust of international media institutions that will be present in the city.
Chairman of Media City Sheikh Saif bin Ahmed al-Thani said in a statement that the Media City is one of the strategic projects in the country, calling for the the participation of Qatar's private sector in its development.
He said tenders will be floated for the various phases and development of the project. The work will be carried out mainly by Qatari companies, he said, expressing his confidence in these companies to be a key partner in the Media City.
Qatari Diar Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Hamad al-Attiyah said Lusail City will attract various international companies to set up their operations, adding it is an integrated city that emulates the developed cities globally.
On the involvement of the private sector in various projects in Qatar, Khamis Ahmed al-Mohannadi, Chairman of the Technical Committee said it seeks to support and stimulate the private sector through the inclusion of local companies in various projects in the country.
This is the first meeting to be followed by several meetings for each phase of the Media City project. Qatari companies will be invited to participate in the development of each phase of the project.
