Ooredoo has announced that it will sponsor an upcoming competition, ‘For a Green Future’, to highlight the importance of sustainability and protecting the environment.
As part of the ‘Teach From Home’ campaign, the Doha Girls Center competition aims to nurture creativity and innovation, as well as promote the importance of protecting and preserving the environment.
All that the participants need to do to enter is transform a neglected, unused item heading for recycling into a beautiful, useful innovation, and they could win a smartphone.
The competition is open to females aged 15-39 years.
Materials must be filmed before and after transformation, with a detailed explanation of the product and its function along with a description of the innovative, creative element.
Participants need not purchase specific materials; they are encouraged to simply use whatever is lying around the house waiting to be recycled. Videos must be in Arabic, with subtitles if required, and each participant can submit only one entry.
Speaking of the competition, Sabah Rabiah al-Kuwari – director of PR at Ooredoo – said: “Promoting sustainability and the preservation of our environment is a huge priority at Ooredoo, as part of our corporate social responsibility strategy, and we’re delighted to be supporting this competition. We all need to do what we can to help protect our environment for future generations, and this competition is a great way to do it while having fun!”
