Ooredoo has announced that new plans have been added to its popular Home Broadband service to cater to the increasing needs of its customers with regards to bandwidth speeds and entertainment content.
This announcement comes on the back of a recent ‘Akamai – State of the Internet’ report, which ranked Qatar first in the Mena region and seventh worldwide for broadband connection speeds.
New customers on fibre will now have a choice of ‘Fibre Home’ plans starting at 15Mbps to 10Gbps.
The new plans have been designed to offer customers more bandwidth in their home to cater to the growing trend of multiple device access. Ooredoo’s starter plan now begins at 15Mbps, a 50% increase on the popular old home broadband starter plan.
Not only will new customers benefit from the new plans but Ooredoo’s existing 240,000 customers on its Home Broadband plans can now seamlessly upgrade to the new Fibre Home plans.
All new Ooredoo ‘Fibre Home’ plans will include the Starzplay service, a subscription video on demand service that offers more than 6,500 hours of TV series, blockbuster Hollywood movies, documentaries, and kids’ entertainment.
Ooredoo Fibre Home customers choosing a 30 Mbps or above plan will also enjoy a free beIN Full Package subscription, which include 58 channels and covers live and exclusive sports channels, as well as premium and exclusive content, including programmes for kids, lifestyle, factual, the latest movies, music and more. Existing customers on Home Broadband can upgrade to the new any Fibre Home plans from today by visiting an Ooredoo Shop or by calling 111.
Ooredoo Qatar director of PR and Corporate Communications Manar Khalifa al-Muraikhi said: “The new Fibre Home Entertainment service is perfect for our customers who want to make the most of their fibre speeds and enjoy the latest movies, TV shows, and content from around the world.”
The Ooredoo Fibre network is available across Qatar with more than 260,000 homes and businesses currently benefiting from super-fast internet and next generation services.
Customers who want to join the ‘Fibre revolution’ can view the fibre availability map on Ooredoo’s website. The map allows customers to check if they are in a fibre-ready ‘green’ area and shows customers how to apply for a fibre upgrade.
