Online last-minute Qatar World Cup ticket sales begin on Sept 27: FIFA

The online Last-Minute Sales Phase for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tickets will begin on Tuesday (September 27), it was announced yesterday.

The Last-Minute Sales Phase, at FIFA.com/tickets, will start at 12 noon Doha time on September 27 and run until the end of the competition on December 18, according to information available on the FIFA website.

In the last sales period, which ran from July 5 to August 16 when fans were able to buy tickets on a first-come, first-served basis, a total of 520,532 tickets were sold. With this, a total of 2.45mn tickets were sold until the end of the last sales period, FIFA had said.

Noting that there was a strong demand for tickets, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 CEO Nasser al-Khater recently said that the Argentina vs Mexico group match had seen the highest demand, followed by Saudi Arabia vs Argentina.

Fans who hold confirmation for one or more matches in their FIFA ticketing account have been encouraged to start planning their trip as soon as possible by booking their accommodation, if living outside of Qatar, and by applying for their Hayya Card (the Fan ID for the tournament) via qatar2022.qa or the Hayya to Qatar 2022 app (available on iOS and Android).

An approved Hayya application, alongside a valid match ticket, will grant spectators access to stadiums, provide entry to Qatar for international fans, and offer free public transport on match days, along with a host of other benefits.

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Interior announced that the entry of visitors to Qatar will be suspended from November 1, and will resume on December 23. Hayya Card holders, meanwhile, can enter the country from November 1 until December 23, and can stay until January 23, 2023.

It was also confirmed that the Hayya Card will allow multiple entries/exits to and from Qatar, and provide the holder with a number of advantages that have been previously announced.
