Doha: The Government Communications Office said Wednesday that there are no reported cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Qatar, adding that the risk to the public and individuals in Qatar is currently low.
In a statement released today, the office said that the government of Qatar is taking all measures to protect the public and plan for eventualities. It also said that the Ministry of Public Health is working closely with all local entities, the World Health Organization (WHO) and other international bodies to monitor the situation and provide up-to-date guidance.
"Given the rapidly changing situation, it is important that the public refer regularly to official government communications on the matter. All official guidance and communications will be issued by the Ministry of Public Health and made available on their website," the statement added
The Government Communications Office urged individuals to refer to official information and not to rely on or distribute unconfirmed or unofficial information, noting that the Ministry of Public Health provides regular updates on its website www.moph.gov.qa in multiple languages and via its social media channels, in addition to the 24/7 coronavirus hotline for information and updates: 66740948 or 66740951.
The Government Communications Office advised people travelling abroad to visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website for the latest travel advice at www.mofa.gov.qa.
