Doha: Organisers of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 have reassured fans that the lessons learned so far in hosting the tournament will help in making the semi-finals and finals a better experience for the fans.
Officials also confirmed that over 466,000 match tickets have been sold so far with more projected for the semi-finals and finals.
“We have sold over 466,000 tickets. The maximum was for the Egypt vs Algeria clash, while the match between Qatar and the UAE had the second most sales. We have had fans from the region attend the tournament and we expect more ticket sales in the next matches,” a Qatar 2022 official said.
“We have learned some valuable lesson which will help us deliver a great World Cup in 2022. We were able to test the readiness of six stadiums. We have already tested the Khalifa Stadium and Lusail will be ready soon. We have also tested the training camps and the fan experience in the fan zones,” he added.
Meanwhile, organisers have assured fans that the Hay’ya card (Fan ID) was successfully tested and whatever lapses will be fixed in time for the World Cup with over 200,000 cards issued for the tournament.
