MoCI closes two factories in Birkat Al-Awamer for 14 days

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has announced the closure of two factories in Birkat Al-Awamer for a period of 14 days each, for violating Law No. 5 of 2015 on Commercial, Industrial, and Similar Public Shops, and Street Vendors.

The violation was issued for engaging in a commercial activity without having required licensing, the MoCI said in a statement on Thursday.

The measure comes as part of the ministry’s efforts to monitor and regulate markets and commercial activities across Qatar and to assess compliance with laws and regulations governing commercial activities, in a bid to uncover and crack down on violations.

The ministry stressed that it would not tolerate any negligence in meeting the obligations stipulated in Law No. 5 of 2015 on Commercial, Industrial, and Similar Public Shops, and Street Vendors.

The MoCI is intensifying its inspection campaigns to control violating practices and to refer violators of laws and ministerial decisions to the competent authorities.

The ministry has urged all citizens and residents to report any violations, including the concerned party’s registration and commercial

licensing, via the call centre: 16001, Twitter: @MOCIQATAR, and Instagram: MOCIQATAR
