Some smoke emission was detected at Hamad General Hospital’s Surgical Specialty Centre, on the sixth floor of the Surgical Tower, yesterday morning “due to an electrical short circuit”, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) said in a tweet.
“The Centre is currently resuming its work as usual, whereas patients were promptly evacuated, as per the procedures normally adopted and performed in such cases.
“Civil Defence personnel attended the scene and determined that the incident should not be classified as emergency,” HMC said in a post last evening.
Investigations into the cause of the smoke emission affirmed that the “incident is attributed to an electrical short circuit”, it added.
