Doha: The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs has announced providing shops for productive families in the "community markets" project in Pearl-Qatar.
The ministry said that project for home entrepreneurs is near completion in Pearl-Qatar, which is being developed in partnership with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and the United Development Company.
The "Community Markets" project aims to provide multiple outlets for productive families free of charge and includes 29 shops with various activities such as selling sweets, traditional foods, traditional clothes, abayas, perfumes, restaurants, etc, in addition to establishing a social development center to train families on handicrafts and on best practices to enable and encourage them to establish their own companies.
The mechanism for selecting the beneficiaries for the project will be through lottery and the ministry will reveal project details, registration and selection mechanism in the coming weeks.
