The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has started implementing the amendments to the building permit systems, which will now rely on an electronic system for obtaining the permits.
It will also need a certificate of construction completion and the service delivery procedures.
The new amendments to the system will be implemented in cooperation with the Directorate General of Civil Defense at the Ministry of Interior, Qatar General Electricity & water Corporation (Kahramaa) and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).
The amendments aim to facilitate the process of obtaining the building permits. It also aims to develop an electronic system for building licences.
The amendments also include cancelling the inspection of telecommunications service providers at the stage of building completion.
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment had launched the electronic system for building licenses in February 2014 to include of all the transactions and procedures required for a building. The system works to transfer the transactions to all parties involved in the process of issuing building permits.
The Ministry is constantly developing the electronic system for building permits to achieve a qualitative shift in the performance of its services within the electronic transformation plan in all areas of government services in the country.
