Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education confirmed that the Integrated Learning System plan adopted for this academic year is going as planned, with all schools in the public and private sectors adhering to the necessary precautionary measures and health standards that have been set to ensure the safety of students, teaching and administrative staff from infection with the Coronavirus (Covid- 19).
The Ministry stated that the educational process in schools, which was launched on Sept.1 this year through the integrated learning system, is successful, and has greatly contributed to reducing mixing in schools, and thus reducing the risks associated with the Coronavirus infection.
In this context, the Ministry noted that there is a limited number of Coronavirus infections in a number of schools and they have been dealt with in accordance with the protocol and procedures followed in this regard, including stopping of students to attend the class in which any positive case appears, as well as conducting swab tests by the Ministry of Public Health to detect the virus.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education confirmed that in the event that any classroom in a school is closed or the entire school is closed, the parents will be informed by messages from the school administration. Also, if there is any increase in cases, studies in classroom or school will be suspended, and students will be transferred to study remotely.
The Ministry assured parents that there are work teams that monitor adherence to the precautionary measures in schools, as well as conducting proactively tests for students, teachers and administrative staff, and those who test positive are subject to the followed medical procedures, while strengthening coordination between all concerned authorities.
The Ministry renewed its call to parents and community members not to pay heed to rumors aimed at confusing the educational process, and to refer to reliable sources to know the latest developments and the current situation related to Coronavirus in the State of Qatar.
