Doha, Qatar: Today, Thursday, March 7, 2024, saw the announcement of working hours for ministries, government agencies, public bodies, and institutions during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
HE Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi, Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, issued a circular outlining the schedule. According to the circular, official working hours for civil servants during Ramadan will be five hours per day, starting from nine in the morning until two in the afternoon.
Furthermore, employees may have the option to arrive late, up to ten o'clock in the morning, provided that they complete the mandatory five working hours and fulfill their work obligations.
During Ramadan, a remote work system will be implemented, allowing a maximum of 30 percent of total employees to work remotely. Priority will be given to Qatari mothers and individuals with disabilities, ensuring that work requirements are met without disruption.
Regarding the health and education sectors, the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education will determine official working hours and schedules according to the nature of their respective work domains.
