The initiative, which was launched in October, aims to host high-profile chefs from around the world. The two-year long undertaking seeks to offer new dining experiences to Qatar’s residents and visitors, along with facilitating investment opportunities.
Following a successful career in prestigious houses across France such as Le Moulin de Mougins, Le Grand Hotel du Cap and Le Pre Catelan, chef Berard now runs the family’s 52-year-old Hostellerie Berard, a famed gastronomic destination in the village of Cadière d'Azur in Provence. Renamed Rene' Sens by Jean Francois Berard in honour of the chef’s father, the restaurant serves elegant and flavourful Mediterranean cuisine and was awarded a Michelin star in 2006 and a Green Michelin Star for gastronomy and durability in 2020.
Chef Degenne is among the ranks of renowned chefs in France. He started his culinary career at the age of 12 before working in numerous restaurants across Paris, including Le Petit Zinc and Le Pastel. In 2013, he joined Le Ciste restaurant at the prestigious Chateau de la Begude hotel, and during his tenure the restaurant was awarded 13.5 points and 2 toques by the restaurant guide Gault & Millau, and a Michelin Guide plate. Since 2019, Degenne has been serving as the executive chef of the Mouratoglou Hotel and Resort in the south of France.
Berard and Degenne will demonstrate their craft and serve exquisite dishes during an exclusive Chef’s Table from December 8-10 at El Faro restaurant at the Marsa Malaz Kempinski Hotel, The Pearl Doha, from 6pm to 8pm and from 8.30pm to 10pm. There are limited seats available, and bookings can be made directly through the hotel.
